Don't stay under an enemy and just continously missile them.

If you're getting hit, then you'll have to submerge lower to get to an angle where they won't be able to hit you. If this happens, they might hit you with the shells from their guns. Despite being blurry, they'll still be able to see you and determine your position and presence. Players that have more than 7 graphics quality will be able to see a blurry view of you due to the water becoming more and more transparent the higher the graphics.

Shells are still able to hit you while you're underwater.

They will notice you if you're surfaced for too long, so be quick and precise and plan your hits while you're submerged instead of while you're surfaced.

Limit your surface time, as you'll be detected by the enemy radar once you fully surface.

When attacking, emerge when the turrets of your target point away from you, so you can stay above the water for the longest time possible, then launch your hard hitting torpedoes and submerge again.

Submarines have the ability to submerge and emerge and they have a small healthpool as well, meaning it is dangerous to engage an enemy if they are aware of you.

The submarines at the end of the line are also equipped with a small amount of ship-to-ship missile launchers.

They don't do much, but they're useful for taking down vessels that are too fast and are able to dodge your torpedoes, such as Patrol Boats. They're also armed with light turrets that only fire when you're surfaced. They can surface and deal massive damage to unsuspecting surface vessels, though they're susceptible to surface fire such as shells and torpedoes by then, so you'll have to quickly submerge again to avoid being detected right after. They're armed with submarine torpedo launchers, which fire torpedoes that deal the highest damage in the game. Submarines are vessels capable of submerging underwater and avoiding a majority of surface attacks in the game, while also staying out of radar detection of enemy vessels until they resurface, making them the stealthiest vessels in the game as they're capable of resurfacing in unexpected locations and are known to be an annoyance for their massive damage outputs.
